What the Spin Touch is

The Spin Touch is a digital water testing meter made by LaMotte, one of the best known names in water testing. We fill a small sealed test disc with a few millilitres of water from your pool, the meter spins it and runs all 10 tests at once, and in about a minute we have the full picture. Nobody is matching colours by eye, so the result does not depend on the light or on who is reading it.

What we test

10 tests from 1 sample, on every visit:

• Free chlorine

• Total chlorine

• Bromine

• pH

• Total alkalinity

• Total hardness

• Stabiliser (cyanuric acid)

• Salt

• Phosphate

• Copper

For mineral and magnesium pools we use a different disc made for mineral water, which also measures magnesium, so the readings suit your pool.

Why it matters

• Comfortable water. Balanced water means no stinging eyes, itchy skin or strong chlorine smell.

• Longer life for your pool. Water that is out of balance can eat away at salt cells, heaters and pumps, or leave scale and stains on the surfaces.

• Problems caught early. Rising phosphate or falling stabiliser shows up in the numbers well before it shows up as a green pool.

• Only what your pool needs. Knowing exactly where the water is means we add the right chemicals in the right amounts, and you are only charged for what is used.

You see the results

After every service visit you receive a written report with your test results and photos, so you can see exactly where your water is at and what we did about it.
