Green pool recovery
A green pool looks like a disaster, but most can be brought back without draining. We work out why it went green, then fix the water and the equipment together so it stays clear.
Family owned and operated. Fully insured. SPASA member. Servicing Sydney pools year round.

Why pools turn green
The chlorine ran out, often after heavy rain, a hot spell or a pool party
The pump was not running long enough, or the filter was blocked
The salt chlorinator stopped making chlorine because of a scaled cell or low salt
Leaves and debris left in the pool used up the chlorine
How we bring it back
Clean out the leaves and debris first, so the chemicals go to work on the algae
Test the water and balance the pH, so the chlorine can actually work
Shock dose with a large amount of chlorine
Run the filter around the clock and clean it often, because it clogs with dead algae
Brush the walls and floor, then vacuum once the algae has settled
Come back for a second visit to retest and rebalance
We also check the pump, filter and chlorinator while we are there, because a green pool is often a sign one of them is not keeping up. More on pump, filter and chlorinator replacement
When draining is the better option
Some pools have gone too far. Very old water, a pool that has sat untouched for months, or water with so much stabiliser built up that chlorine can no longer work, is often cheaper to drain, clean and refill than to keep treating. We will tell you honestly which approach makes sense for your pool.
Keeping it clear afterwards
Once the water is back, regular servicing keeps it that way. We test every pool on every visit and send you a report with the results and photos. More on how we test your water
Get it sorted
Send us photos of the pool and the equipment and we can usually tell you what is involved before we come out.
