LED Pool Lights: Is It Time to Upgrade?

A pool light makes a big difference to how you use the pool in the evenings, and to how the backyard looks at night. If yours is old, dim or not working at all, an LED upgrade is one of the easier improvements you can make.

Why LED

  • Much brighter than old halogen lights, for a fraction of the power

  • They last far longer, so you are not replacing globes every few years

  • Colour options, if you want more than plain white

  • They run cooler, which is easier on the light housing and the seal

Signs your light needs attention

  • It flickers, is dim or does not turn on at all

  • Water or fogging inside the lens

  • A cracked or yellowed lens

  • An old halogen light where globes keep blowing

Water inside a light is the one to act on quickly. Stop using the light and get it checked.

The best time to do it

Winter and early spring are the quiet months for pools, so it is a good time to sort out lights before summer. If your pool is being drained for a clean or a green pool recovery, it is the cheapest time of all to add or replace lights, so ask us to quote both together.

What we fit

We supply and fit 12V LED pool lights, including Aquaquip, and can replace most old lights with an LED that suits your pool.
